Punxsutawney man arrested, charged in stabbing, robbery

PUNXSUTAWNEY — The Punxsutawney Borough Police Department reported on Monday that a Punxsutawney man was arrested and charged in a stabbing incident that recently took place in Punxsutawney.

Police reported that Jamon N. Diehl, 25, Punxsutawney, was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, terrorist threats and robbery — charges stemming from an incident in the early morning hours last Friday on S. Gilpin Street.

Hughes brings ‘M.R. Hooley’ to life through self-publication of children’s book

PUNXSUTAWNEY — It began with a creative idea, and with determination and ambition, one local man was able to bring to life. For Glen Campbell resident Michael Hughes, that idea was to write and publish a book.
Hughes has been writing stories for 15 years and said that he was about to be published by a publishing house when he discovered that he would probably lose his creative control over the novel.

Josephine Dale Perry, 84

Josephine Dale Perry, 84, of Laurel Brook Drive, Brookville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013. Waiting at the gates of Heaven was her loving husband, Edward Lee Perry, whom she married on Dec. 15, 1946. He died on March 12, 1999.

She was born May 24, 1929, in Luling, Texas, the daughter of Howard Dale
and Ida Josephine Davis Williams. She and her husband, Edward, lived in Punxsutawney for 30-plus years.
