Chamber of Commerce names 2013 Business of the Year

PUNXSUTAWNEY — The Punxsutawney Area Chamber of Commerce named the 2013 Business of the Year at Thursday's annual luncheon.

SS.C.D. Students dress down for projector project

The students at SS.C.D. School celebrated a night out at the movies last week at the Jackson Theater.

The entire school participated in dress-down days, during which students paid a dollar each to dress
down.

There were four different themes for dress-down days, and money raised was donated to the Jackson Theater for the projector fund.

A total of $224 was raised and presented to Rob McCoy, Punxsutawney Area Community Center director. For their generosity, the students were treated to a movie called “The Croods.”

is a stylist, or perhaps you have seen her throughout the community.

Lee Lukehart, 72

November 14, 2013

Lee Lukehart, 72, Punxsutawney, died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.

She was born July 22, 1941, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Joseph and Jeanne (Bidwell) Lukehart.

She worked at the Punxsutawney Historical and Genealogical Society.

She enjoyed quilting, making stained glass, making kaleidoscopes and interior decorating.

She lived in Florida for 10 years and also in Alabama for another 10 years and then returned to Punxsutawney to be near her brother.

Mary Belle Neal, 88

November 14, 2013

Mary Belle Neal, 88, formerly of Rossiter, died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013, at Scenery Hill Manor in Indiana.

She was born Nov. 28, 1924, in Butler, Pa.

She was married to Lawrence Neal, who preceded her in death.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Frank Neal of Rossiter, and one daughter, Laurabelle Minser of Saint Maries, Idaho.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, 2013, at the Richard L. Fait Funeral Home in Punxsutawney.
