Pop rocks: Pine St. Senior Center donates popcorn proceeds back to Music in the Park

October 14, 2013

Missy Grose, director of the Pine Street Senior Center, presented a check in the amount of $191.36 to Music in the Park.

During the Music in the Park series, held during the summer, Grose and assistant Joan Fredrick, a senior at the center, made popcorn. Popcorn was made available for donations, but the donations weren't mandatory.

Money raised through those donations was given back to Music in the Park, which Grose said a lot of senior citizens attend.

Girls' soccer leaves it all on field for Senior Night

October 14, 2013

PUNXSUTAWNEY — With just one win on the season, and just a handful of games left on the schedule, the Lady Chucks soccer team wanted a win on Monday night more than anything.

Playing under the lights, while honoring the seniors on Senior Night, they played their most spirited home game of the season.

Despite ending up on the wrong end of a 1-0 game, the Lady Chucks consider their loss to St. Marys a moral victory.

"Yeah, it was a moral victory," senior Rachel Litak. "All of our games came down to the final seconds, and we never quit."
