2013 Homecoming Court

At Friday night’s football game, Punxsutawney Area High School honored the Homecoming Court and crowned Searra Wasicki as Homecoming Queen. Isabella Gallina was named Homecoming Princess.

Route 310 rollover

The Punxsutawney Fire Department and Punxsutawney-based Pennsylvania State Police respond to the scene of this 2000 Toyota Celica rollover over on Route 310 in Young Township on Friday.

William G. “Gurn” Satterlee, 83

October 11, 2013

William G. “Gurn” Satterlee, 83, Mahaffey, died Thursday, Oct. 10, 2013, at home.

He was born Oct. 6, 1930, in Marion Center, the son of the late William F. and Esther C. (Good) Satterlee.

On March 21, 1997, he married Beverly K. Campbell, who survives.

He was a member of the Mahaffey United Methodist Church.

He was a graduate of the Marion Center Class of 1950.

He served two years in the U.S. Navy in the early 1950s.

He was a member of the Masons and the Shriners.

On May 15, 1959, he started his own business, William G. Satterlee and Sons.
