Eva J. Anderson, 91, Anita, died Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.
She was born Dec. 23, 1921, in Anita, a daughter of the late Carl Albert and Anna J. Anderson.
She was a member of the Elim Lutheran Church in Anita.
She graduated from Punxsutawney Area High School and was first employed at G.C. Murphy and then at Punxsutawney Hardware for most of her adult life.
H. Ray Pifer, 90, of Reynoldsville, passed away Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family.
Mr. Pifer was born Aug. 23, 1922, in Big Run, a son of the late Irvin G. Pifer and Uzella (Rhoades) Pifer.
He was married in May of 1945 to his wife, Olive I. (Timblin) Pifer, who survives, of Reynoldsville.
They were married 67 years.
Mr. Pifer was a lifelong resident of the area and the family's 8th generation homestead farm.
He was an entrepreneur and inventor.
He was the owner of Pifer's Poultry & Egg Business, processing 100,000 birds per year.
PUNXSUTAWNEY — When it comes to promoting the arts, both in and out of the classroom, Indiana University of Pennsylvania remains quite dedicated.
It currently offers art education through ArtsPath, the Lively Arts outreach program made possible through the AIE Partnership of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.
ArtsPath was formed twelve years ago and is a regional and professional arts program that brings in professional artists from outside the school.
These artists come in and perform a variety of different arts in a classroom setting.
