• 10 a.m. to noon — Children’s Workshops, Boom Town-era children’s activities (ages six to 12) at the Lattimer House, sponsored by the Punxsutawney Historical & Genealogical Society.

• 11 to 11:30 a.m. — Registration for Diaper Derby (Crawling Babies) and for Tot Trot (12 to 18 months on padded course).

• 11:30 a.m. to noon — Diaper Derby Race followed by the Tot Trot Race.

• Noon to 12:45 p.m. – Sadecky’s Puppets, “The Prince and the Pauper.”

• 1 to 1:30 p.m. — Dennie Huber, magic.

• 2 to 2:45 p.m. — Sadecky’s Puppets, “Aesop’s Fables.”

David Gillespie, Rossiter, died Sunday, July 1, 2012, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

Arrangements are incomplete and under the direction of the Shumaker Funeral Home Inc., Punxsutawney.

Paul Edward Montgomery, 84

July 1, 2012

Paul Edward Montgomery, 84, Punxsutawney, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, June 30, 2012.

He was born Oct. 16, 1927, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late William H. and Edith (Ely) Montgomery.

Mr. Montgomery was employed for numerous years by Currys Supply Depot, located near Pittsburgh.

He was a veteran of the Korean War, having served in the U.S. Army.

Mr. Montgomery resided in Pittsburgh for most of his life and was an avid sports fan of the Pirates and Penguins.

He enjoyed volunteering at food banks, gardening and meeting new people.

Ethel P. Smith White, 86

July 1, 2012

Ethel P. Smith White, 86, Indiana, died Friday, June 29, 2012, at Maple Valley Personal Care Home.

She was born Oct. 8, 1925, in Indiana, a daughter of the late Homer C. and Vera V. (States) Smith.

Mrs. White was a graduate of Laurel Lamar High School.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, cooking and baby-sitting her grandchildren.

Mrs. White was a member of the Alliance Church in Indiana and its Senior Citizen’s Ladies of the Church.
