Jury finds Thornhill guilty on all but one count

BROOKVILLE — The trial of Christopher Thornhill ended on Thursday with him being found guilty of all but one of the counts with which he was charged in a shooting that took place in Punxsutawney on Sept. 22, 2011.

The victims in the incident were Punxsutawney residents Shane Glatt and Richard White Jr., both of whom survived with serious injuries.

Krise Bus Service named Chamber’s Business of the Year

PUNXSUTAWNEY — Thursday afternoon, the Punxsutawney Chamber of Commerce held its annual members’ luncheon, and the highlight of the event was the naming of the 2012 Business of the Year Award, Krise Bus Service of
Punxsutawney.

The winner write-up, read by Tracy Smith — representing Spirit Publishing Company, which was last year’s winner — stated this year’s winner was a company “formed in 1990 by a person who became interested in the industry while he was still a senior in high school. Starting out with 45 employees, this company grew steadily.

Pizza & Prevention puts up yet another big number in 2012

Wednesday afternoon, Fox’s Pizza Den donated a check for $46,595.91 — funds raised during the annual Pizza & Prevention fundraiser — to the Punxsutawney Fire Department.
