Following the Home for the Holidays Parade Saturday, the Rotary Club held its annual Circle of Trees lighting event. Pictured are members of the PAHS 8th- and 9th-grade Art Club posing with their best overall tree.
It was a cold, snowy day in the town of Punxsutawney, but up at FEMCO's beautiful Gingerbread House, the holiday spirit was easy to find. Inside the house could be found all the wrapped toys that have already been donated — toys that will bring smiles to the faces of children in need. For Marine Doug Fricker, this is his eighth Toys for Tots event. Teaming up with Janeen Love, who is the Senior Corps RSVP Director at Community Action, they will gather and distribute the toys. Some examples of the toys they would like to receive are board games, dolls, action figures and even bicycles.
Saturday evening, the Home for the Holidays Parade, sponsored by the F.O. Eagles No. 1231, was held, entertaining all who attended. After Santa (pictured) came cruising into town to conclude the parade and a fireworks show was held, sponsored by the Walston Club, the winners were announced at an after party at the Eagles.
