PUNXSUTAWNEY â So many turn to music to help lift their spirits when theyâre having a rough day. So, when a student from the Punxsutawney Area Middle School, Colin Wineberg, â¨fell ill, several local musicians decided to put their talents to use raising money to help Winebergâs cause.
Event organizer Mike Krach, a music teacher in the Punxsutawney Area School District, said Colin is a 7th-grade student in the district who is in need of a kidney transplant. When Wineberg fell ill this past summer rather suddenly, Krach said a chronic kidney disease was discovered.
HYDE â Despite every no-contest prediction for the Friday night football sub-regional playoff, the Punxsy Chucks scored 0the most points in seven weeks against the undefeated Clearfield Bison to give the host all it could handle.
Clearfield, though, had the answer to the battle-tough Punxsy team to take away the hard-fought 38-18 victory.

John H. London, 80, of Big Run, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at home with his family.
He was born Sept. 9, 1932, in Big Run, a son of the late Edison M. and Edith (Sutter) London.
He was a member of the last graduating class from Big Run High School in 1951.
On April 26, 1953, he married the former Beverly Jane Roney. She survives.
He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Punxsutawney. He was a member of the church choir and really enjoyed singing, even outside of church.
