EAST END — Halloween may mean you have the opportunity to go out to just trick-or-treat, but in the East End it's much, much more. Halloween is an annual celebration.
The fourth annual East End Trick-or-Treat will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday and is open to all area children, said Michelle "Boo" Lorenzo, who, along with her partner, Jan Zamperini, have been transforming their fabulous old-fashioned home into a haunted house.
The East End Trick-or-Treat begins at the East End Bridge and concludes at Cindee's Country Corner and includes State Street, said Lorenzo.

Oct. 15, the department along with the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), the union representing its driver licensing center employees, announced that those centers will remain closed on that day.
SUMMERVILLE — Two Saint Marys residents and one Eldred resident were killed in a one-vehicle accident that occurred around 4:40 p.m. Wednesday on Route 28 east of Johns Hill Road in Clover Township, according to Punxsutawney-based Pennsylvania State Police.
One other person, also from Saint Marys, was injured in the wreck.
The crash occurred as the vehicle, a 2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse, was traveling south on Route 28 in Clover Township.
The unit was ascending an uphill grade when, for unknown reasons, it traveled into the oncoming northbound lane and then off the east berm.
PUNXSUTAWNEY — Being the pre-race favorite is a challenging place to be, but the Punxsy Lady Chucks cross country team will look to fulfill the hype. The Lady Chucks are favored to capture their first District IX crown since 2009 this Saturday morning in Ridgway.
The Punxsy girls head into the 2012 district championship meet with the inside track to gold based on their previous season results against the other three AA teams competing in the district — Bradford, Clearfield and Saint Marys. Â
