Girls' cross country team ready for season to begin

August 28, 2011

PUNXSUTAWNEY — The Punxsutawney Lady Chucks girls' cross country team is prepared for another important season after missing its third consecutive District 9 championship.

The Bradford Lady Owls had just the slightest edge over Punxsy to secure the district title.

But the Lady Chucks head coach George Wehrle has high hopes for the future.

"My overall impression of this year's team so far is that it is easily one of the most talent teams we've had," Wehrle said. "If the work ethic and desire are there, they should do quite well."
