Donald J. Monoskey, 69, Marion Center, died Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at Crystal Waters in Home.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and under the direction of the Richard L. Fait Funeral Home, Punxsutawney.

Joseph Lellock Jr., 90

May 25, 2011

Joseph Lellock Jr., 90, Punxsutawney, died Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at Punxsutawney Area Hospital.

He was born May 29, 1920, in Sykesville, a son of the late Joseph and Veronica (Paholsky) Lellock.

He was married to Ethel Irene (Sivanich) Lellock, who preceded him in death.

Mr. Lellock was a carpenter and an honorary retiree with 50 years in the Carpenters' Union.

He served as a staff sergeant in the U.S. Army during World War II and received the Purple Heart, the Silver Star and three Bronze Stars.
He was a member of SS.C.D.

Travis J. Hemm, 20

Travis J. Hemm, 20, Mayport, died Sunday, May 22, 2011, as a result of a motorcycle accident.

He was born June 20, 1990, in Meriden, Conn., the son of Joseph and Doreen (Lyman) Hemm.

He was employed by Rosebud Mining.

In addition to his parents, surviving relatives include a sister, Danielle Lyman of Mayport; a brother, Jarrod Hemm of Punxsutawney; his maternal grandmother, Gail Lyman of Mayport; and his paternal grandparents, Frank and Josephine Hemm of Tucson, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, William Lyman.

Katherine L. (Raybuck) Fetterman, 85

Katherine L. (Raybuck) Fetterman, 85, Punxsutawney, died Monday, May 23, 2011, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Aug. 17, 1925, in Punxsutawney, a daughter of the late Carl A. Raybuck and Florence Raybuck-Gourley.

She was married to Harry A. Fetterman, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Fetterman attended Flowing Waters Outreach Church.

A loving mother and grandmother, she was dedicated to her Lord and Savior. She and her husband were involved with the church for many years. After his passing, Mrs. Fetterman continued her duties at the church.

Dr. W. Ardell Haines, 91

Dr. W. Ardell Haines, 91, son of Waide B. Haines and Ida M. Haines, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2011.

He was born in Punxsutawney and graduated from Punxsutawney High School in 1935 Dr. Haines was married to the former Wilma Gall, of Punxsutawney, who survives.

He graduated from Indiana State Teachers College (now Indiana University of Pennsylvania) in 1940 with a B.S. degree in business education. In 1940, he began his career in education at Baldwin Township High School in Pittsburgh, where he taught business education courses in the commercial department.

Punxsy seniors receive honors at Class Night

PUNXSUTAWNEY — During the final week that the Punxsutawney Area High School Class of 2011 was able to share together, seniors not only shared memories of character, but also memories of scholarship as they came together as a whole for Class Night.

Class Secretary Marcy Sallack opened the program by saying the night would celebrate individual and group achievements of the class.

Principal David London expressed his wishes for the class as it enters the world. He also congratulated seniors on being May 2011 graduates.

Responders debriefed after boy’s drowning

PUNXSUTAWNEY — When a tragedy occurs like the one Saturday, when a three-year-old boy from Clearfield County lost his life after falling into Mahoning Creek, it not only affects the family and friends of the victim, but it also affects the emergency responders who attempted to rescue him from the chilly waters of the creek.

Proud pre-schoolers graduate from Rainbow Express

PUNXSUTAWNEY — More than 300 people crowded into the Alliance Church Tuesday to watch the Rainbow Express pre-school graduating Class of 2011 receive their diplomas.

There were four groups of students graduating. Cookie Monsters and Big Birds are ages four and five, and many were in their second year at Rainbow Express. The Muppets and Little Birds are first-year students between the ages of three and four.
