Buck season under way with a bang!

Brayden Grabany, of Punxsutawney, wasted no time harvesting his first buck this deer season when he shot this 185-pound, eight-point at 7:30 a.m. Monday morning hunting in Gaskill Township.

Weather-wise, the conditions for the opening day of buck season weren’t exactly ideal, but that didn’t stop Dustin Brooks (left) from successfully harvesting this 10-point, 150-pound buck at 7:38 a.m. Monday at the BB Ranch, Gaskill Township. One of the highlights of this past weekend’s Home for the Holidays kickoff was the official lighting of the community Christmas tree in Barclay Square by the Punxsutawney Rotary Club.
