Punxsutawney Area Middle Schooler Laney Monroe throws a pass to her dad from center stage at the Punxsutawney Area High School auditorium Monday night. Laney will take a different stage for the second time Dec. 4, when she travels to Pittsburgh for the Pittsburgh Steelers' team NFL Punt, Pass & Kick competition. Monroe also competed last year and earned third-place in her age bracket.
PUNXSUTAWNEY â Braxton Amundsonâs friends and family now know the $10,000 secret he has been keeping for more than three months.
As those who watched the PAHS graduate on âThe Price is Rightâ Monday morning now know, Amundson â son of Eric and Vickie Amundson â had a chance to win $10,000 after he had the closest bid on a set of womenâs cosmetic products â which he also won.
As a contestant this past August on the show, Amundson had to correctly guess which four of six products presented were under $2.
BELL TOWNSHIP â There were no injuries in a two-vehicle accident that occurred at 7:15 a.m. Monday at the intersection of Route 119 and Rikers Road, Bell Township.
According to Punxsutawney-based Pennsylvania State Police, a 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by a 16-year-old female from Punxsutawney was stopped at the stop sign on Rikers Road facing west, waiting to make a left turn onto Route 119.
Police said she failed to see a 1999 Oldsmobile 88 driven by Rick Sherry, 50, Punxsutawney, and pulled out onto Route 119 in front Sherryâs vehicle, which was traveling north.
