A group of children from the Playhouse Children’s Center enjoy an afternoon in the George C. Brown Community Pool Friday. The center brings children to swim in the pool several times a week. The pool is located on Cypress Street adjacent to Harmon Field and is open from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday, and from noon to 8 p.m. Thursdays. Library wraps up summer reading program with pool, puppets and pizza Print E-mail

Steve Abrams (left) of the “Outreach Lecture Program” from the University of Pennsylvania presented a puppet show based on Aesop’s Fables as a reward for the children that participated in the Punxsutawney Memorial Library’s Summer Reading Program. Shown is Abrams and a toucan puppet which was pretending to bite the noses of several children during the program Friday at the Harmon Field pavilion.
